I had the opportunity to participate in a webinar yesterday called The Hugely Important Upcoming Tax Cut Battle: Why it Matters, co-hosted by the Food Research & Action Center and the Coalition on Human Needs.
Hundreds of advocates tuned in to learn how the House and Senate tax proposals, which provide trillions of dollars in tax cuts largely tilted to the wealthy, pose a direct threat to services for low- and moderate-income people. Speakers included: Senator Patty Murray, D-WA; Deborah Weinstein, Coalition on Human Needs; Frank Clemente, Americans for Tax Fairness; and Jim Weill, FRAC. They provided a run-down of the tax bill, why one should care, and actions a person might take to push back against the tax bill. A recording of the presentation is available. Please contact me if this is of interest.
