About Me

This is my space to comment on the world around me as I see it. I
am a 44-year-old white male, married, no kids. I work for Idaho
State University as a coordinator of ADA services for students
and staff who have disabilities. I consider myself as somewhat of
an advocate, although not usually the chanting/chaining myself to
fences variety.

My professional interests are in the areas of adaptive
technology, access to information and equal participation in what our
society offers. On a personal level I live with my disability
every day and experience the socially created results thereof.
Much of what we consider part of our “disabilities” is really
the result of the sociocultural world where we live. I am blind, if
anyone cares to know. This does not define who I am, although it
has somewhat begun to define my choice of career.

This blog provides me a place to share information that is either
of personal interest or of more global relevant. The items of
personal interests may include notes on traveling, books read and
people met.
